Call for Testers: Super Girl
Super Girl Knitting Pattern
I am currently looking for testers for my newest design. Super Girl Shawl is reminiscent of the outfits a female superhero would wear, therefore she is named “Super Girl.”
This is a symmetrical shawl that is started with just three stitches. The colorwork requires that two strands of yarn are carried invisibly along the edge of the shawl. All stitch patterns only require basic knitted, purled, yarn over and slipped stitches. Once the depth of the shawl is achieved, short rows are used for added length.
SIZES / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
One Size – Length: 84 inches (215 cm) – Width: 18 (45 cm)
MATERIALS
Yarn: Tosh Merino Light, a single-ply, 100% merino hand dyed yarn. Estimated requirement: 840 yards – 768 meters, 2 skeins (one of each color). The model is knitted in two color-ways the main color is “Midnight Pass” and the contrast color is “Night in Chile”.
Notions: Stitch markers, tapestry needle.
GAUGE
24 stitches and 16 rows to 4 inches (10 cm) in garter stitch on US 4 (3.5 mm) needles. While gauge is not as important for a shawl as for a sweater, yarn substitutions and inconsistent gauge will affect overall size and amount of yarn required.
DIFFICULTY / SKILLS REQUIRED
This pattern is suitable for intermediate knitters. The pattern calls for garter stitch, knit front & back and yarn over increases, two-color patterns, and German short rows. Directions for all stitches and techniques are well-defined in the Abbreviations and Definitions section of the pattern.
